COURSE DESCRIPTION: Assessment in 21st Century Classrooms is a six week interactive e-learning experience that offers an in-depth look at assessment that meets the needs of 21st century teaching and learning. You will see how assessment strategies can benefit your teaching practices and your students’ learning. You will learn how to plan, develop, and manage student-centered assessment. This course offers opportunities to apply the assessment concepts with action planning exercises.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Collaboration in the Digital Classroom is a six week interactive e-learning experience that offers an in-depth look at collaboration with a focus on online collaborative tools.  As participants, you will see how collaboration helps students develop 21st century thinking skills, deepen content understanding, and prepare them for the global world. You will learn how to plan and manage collaboration activities that integrate online collaborative tools increasingly part of our globally connected workplaces. The course offers opportunities to apply the collaboration concepts with action planning exercises.

Using Cell Phones as Learning Tools in the Classroom – begins June 6th –  July 25th

COURSE DESCRIPTION: In this six week blended –learning course, participants will learn how even the most basic cell phones can be used as powerful tools for teaching and learning. When integrated with free, web-based tools and resources, cell phones offer students and teacher, the ability to share ideas through activities such as blogging, podcasting, and data gathering. This course will highlight meaningful ways that cell phones can be used as learning tools in and out of the classroom, while also addressing the challenges and resistance that many educators face when trying to integrate cell phones into learning activities.  Lots of beneficial apps will also be share in this course.

Thinkfinity Online for Colorado Teachers- begins June 1st

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Thinkfinity Online for Colorado Teachers is a three-week, asynchronous, Internet-based course. It will present an overview of Verizon Thinkfinity’s website and provide instruction on locating and integrating Verizon Thinkfinity’s online educational resources effectively into instructional activities to support student learning. Educators will learn how to create a Verizon Thinkfinity Integration Plan and develop strategies for using technology in their own instructional settings.
